Count Down

This is the first of our posts and something of a test run.

With only a couple of weeks to go before we fly out of London, we have been catching up on all the things we hoped to do in England when we first arrived, but never got around to doing. So far we have headed over to the Emirates Stadium (as Red Members) to watch our beloved Arsenal play on home turf.

We have gone to Shakespears Globe to view some fine theatre... Romeo and Juliet.

And we have very kindly been taken on a camping weekend by three of Nikki's kind workmates, Martin, Steven and Jon. We headed out to a great camping spot at Hastings in the area of Sussex. Despite the English rain and a gusty strong constant wind (and no Martin it wasn't a breeze) we had a great time.

The boys took us on a steam train journey which was one that will never be forgotten. The train was like something out of a picture book and we were even treated to a 1940's war era weekend on the train. Each station was fitted out with banners, cars and military vehicles that would have been around in the 1940's and everyone was perfectly dressed for the occasion (if only we had known to dress up, it would have added to the fun). We topped off the evening with a wood fire, bbq and a few card games. You couldn't have asked for anything better!

The following day we went into the seaside town of Battle. In the old town the doorways are so short that even Nikki needed to duck her head to pass into them. People were really short over here back in the day!!! We topped off our second day with some time in a penny arcade where we ran around like kids trying to win some truely lame prizes.

After a trying week of work for Nikki we had a long bank holiday weekend and hosted our French friend David on his trip to London. We roamed about London as true tourists taking some 500 photos on our new camera. We won't bore you with all of our shots, but here is a taster of the sites of London.

Tomorrow we are off to Stonehenge, so more from us next week.

Also a special thanks to Penny and Matt for their great travel blog.... we are learning from you.
